Facebook Used with CCTV Evidence to Find Wrongdoer

After having CCTV evidence of his wrong doing posted on Facebook, the culprit has turned himself in to the police.

The young offender was caught on a pub’s CCTV camera purposely breaking an expensive picture in the hall of the pub. After fleeing from the pub the vandal was shocked to be told by numerous friends that his actions were on Facebook for everyone to see.

Portsmouth Utilises Perceptrak CCTV Technology

Portsmouth city council have recently installed behaviour recognition technology called Perceptrak, to further improve their CCTV Security network.

The cities current CCTV installtion totals at 142 cameras all linked to the main operators hub. However, they also have access to a further 1000 cameras owned by business CCTV operators.

£80k Raid Caught on CCTV

Business CCTV cameras recently caught theifs stealing £80,000 worth of furniture from an importer last week.

The dramatic CCTV footage shows theifs, firstly drugging the guard dog by feeding it food laced with sleeping pills. When the dog was subdued the theifs broke into the area and blowtorched through storage containers to get at the goods inside.

South Dublin to get 70 New CCTV Cameras

Dublin has suffered in recent years due to a large increase in anti-social behaviour. So much so, the council has decided to invest €2.5m in CCTV cameras and surveillance.

The cameras are expected to be installed in four main locations; Neilstown, Fettercaim, Jobstown and Brookfield.

The CCTV cameras themselves are estimated to cost €1.2m and the other €1.3m consists of cabling, erection of the hardware, installation, software and monitoring costs.
