Diesel Theft Reduced by CCTV Installation

A Plymouth based freight company saw a total of 15,000 litres of feul being stolen from it’s Devonshire depot in June.

Westcountry Security has provided an Internet based CCTV system that has stopped any further criminal activities entirely.

The Business CCTV system is placed around the perimeters of the depot and watches for any activity around the fences. Should the camera see any activity outside of working hour the footage is sent live to a video surveillance service from where the police can be notified or the appropriate action can be taken.

With an increase of 507% in fuel theft since August of last year the CCTV system has proven to be a huge success, cutting the crime entirely!

A spokesman for the depot stated the system was well worth the investment. Not only has it prevented the continual crime that is costing the company thousand of pounds but it also serves other purposes.

The CCTV system is also used for monitoring staff activitity during the day and ensuring their safety whilst at work.
