£80k Raid Caught on CCTV

Business CCTV cameras recently caught theifs stealing £80,000 worth of furniture from an importer last week.

The dramatic CCTV footage shows theifs, firstly drugging the guard dog by feeding it food laced with sleeping pills. When the dog was subdued the theifs broke into the area and blowtorched through storage containers to get at the goods inside.

South Dublin to get 70 New CCTV Cameras

Dublin has suffered in recent years due to a large increase in anti-social behaviour. So much so, the council has decided to invest €2.5m in CCTV cameras and surveillance.

The cameras are expected to be installed in four main locations; Neilstown, Fettercaim, Jobstown and Brookfield.

The CCTV cameras themselves are estimated to cost €1.2m and the other €1.3m consists of cabling, erection of the hardware, installation, software and monitoring costs.

UK’s Largest Shopping Centre Upgrades to IP CCTV Surveillance

Meadow Hall, located in Sheffield is the UK’s largest shopping centre, containing hundreds of stores. The centre heavily relies on business CCTV systems to protect it’s staff and customers from potential crime. As the centre has expanded over the years and as it sees more and more customers visit each year, the CCTV surveillance has undergone an upgrade to further assist the security team.

Biometrics Changing CCTV Security

Biometric security uses a biological characteristic to identify an individual. This is a very new technology that is improving all the time and is now successful enough to be used as evidence in court.

CCTV footage can be analysed to determine the characteristics of a person, such as how they walk. This can then be compared with different footage of that person and their characteristic patterns can be matched.

Diesel Theft Reduced by CCTV Installation

A Plymouth based freight company saw a total of 15,000 litres of feul being stolen from it’s Devonshire depot in June.

Westcountry Security has provided an Internet based CCTV system that has stopped any further criminal activities entirely.
