London has just begun a six month trial of CCTV in select buses.
Tweny one double decker buses will be fitted with the real-time imaging technology, monitored by the Transport of London department.
The live images will be beamed back to determine whether the presence of CCTV cameras can help staff deal with disorder more effectively.
If the trial is successful it should see any trouble makers dealt with by police as they get off the bus, rather than offenders getting away and the footage not even being reviewed until days after an incident.
