The text a CCTV operator service reported on several months ago by Self-Secure.co.uk has proven to be a great success and is now set to move into new industries.
The Cambridge City Council originally used the text a CCTV operator service for allowing residents to alert operators to a corruption of the law, such as theft or anti social behaviour. Operators could then survey the occurence and request police presence at the incident.
The service proved to be a great success, leading to twice as many arrests in the area and 94 cautions as opposed to 14 in 2007.
The service is now looking to move into other industries for purposes such as reporting poor hygene in restuarants or overflowing bins.
Residents have backed the idea due to the service being cheap and confidential.
