Suffolk district council has had success at capturing Fly-tippers on CCTV cameras small enough to place inside tin cans.
The hidden cameras have had such a great success because the offenders are unaware of there locations whereas conventional CCTV cameras have made Fly-tippers dump their loads in areas that do not have CCTV.
Following the success of the cameras the council has dedicated £75,000 to further improve the initiative.
With perpetrators knowing that anyone could be watching from a hidden location the offence has dropped a signifcant percentage and because of the footage more cases end with a fine or sentence.
