In a recent BBC report school exam halls could be fitted with CCTV cameras to prevent students from cheating.
With technology becoming so advanced it is more of a problem preventing children from cheating. With high-tech gadgets such as web enabled mobile phones it could be possible for someone in an exam to retrieve answers from the Internet.
Cheif executive of the EOA (Examination Officers’ Association) stated the plans were an exploration of prevention methods and although the installation of CCTV systems had benefits for both sides the concern is that the children may be put off by the feeling of being watched by the cameras.
A report in March showed a rise by 60% of students taking mobile phones into exams so methods will be continually researched until a solution is found.
