First ScotRail is to install a further 116 CCTV cameras to further protect it’s staff and passengers.
The new systems will be installed at three stations - 47 at Inverness, 46 at Motherwell and 23 at Glasgow.
The total of 116 cameras will cost around £350,000 which includes eight CCTV help points, providing the passengers with addition reassurance and a point for information.
The installation is to be completed by April bringing the total of cameras to 3,950 and 441 help points across 241 stations.
A recent survey shows the public feeling of safety in ScotRail stations has risen 9% from last year and the new systems should further increase this figure.
